Diel's daydreams

You only see typos after you post

I hate typos.

Everybody does, but I think it occurs to me way too much.

It only gets worse because english is not my first language, but I’m a failure in portuguese too.

I consistently get words wrong, not always the same, but it took me years of me writing (in portuguese) “nascional” instead of “nacional” to discover I as wrong.

I think writing late at night when I’m supposed to be sleeping isn’t helping. What is unfortunate, I feel my thoughts flow better at night, but I guess my brain can’t think and type at the same time when I’m tired.

Another of the main problems is when two words have a similar sound. While writing this post I wrote “de” (a preposition in portuguese) in place of “the”(very similar pronunciation depending of the accent). One of these days I read an old post of mine with the word “lake” when I meant “lack” but I don’t remember which one, so I'm going to have to search one by one. The spell check doesn’t get those mistakes because both words exist.

It frustrates me a lot. I pay attention, I change fonts and themes, I do spell check and still get things wrong, and I only notice after I post. Not only in my blog but in my personal life too, I blocked IRL friends because they keep making fun of my typos in social media. He had to come to apologize to me by text to get unblocked. It may sound petty, but I was having a bad day.

Yesterday I was reading my last post translated to see how things were working and noticed some wild things and had to rewrite some parts of it. I'm going to have to translate to review things escaping the spell check. This is so annoying.

If you ever found a typo in one of my posts and decided to not tell me, thank you. I would think about it throughout the day and before sleeping.

I really hope that isn't a typo anywhere...
